Motorcycle passenger dies in crash, police searching for driver who left the scene
DETROIT (FOX 2) - Investigators are searching for the driver of a motorcycle after a fatal crash overnight on Detroit's east side.
Police say the driver of the motorcycle left the scene -- and left a passenger behind, who died in the crash.
The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. Monday at the corner of Harper and Gratiot.
So far it appears a mini van was making a left turn when it was hit by the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle immediately ran from the scene and left behind the 26-year-old male passenger. It does not appear that anybody else was hurt.
Police had the road blocked off for about four hours overnight for their investigation.
Police don't have a description of the motorcycle driver to release right now.
