Two wounded in Lodge Freeway shooting
Detroit police say a rideshare driver’s vehicle was shot at multiple times by an unknown suspect vehicle.
DETROIT (FOX 2) - Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting that left two people in critical condition and shut down northbound Lodge Freeway Saturday morning.
What we know:
The incident occurred just after 9 a.m., when a rideshare driver entered the northbound Lodge Freeway from Livernois Avenue.
Police say the vehicle was shot at multiple times by an unknown suspect. The driver stopped near Meyers Road, while the suspect's vehicle continued driving.
The 30-year-old driver from Hamtramck and his 17-year-old male passenger from Detroit were both struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
A motive for the shooting has not been determined.

Local perspective:
Northbound Lodge Freeway at Wyoming Avenue reopened just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday after troopers searched the freeway for evidence.
"Troopers are currently working to determine the motive for this shooting," Michigan State Police F/Lt. Mike Shaw said in a release. "They are using technology along the victims’ route to attempt to identify a suspect vehicle."
