Oakland Co Sheriff gives out gun locks; launches school safety site

Oakland County is kicking off an effort to reduce gun violence in homes, communities and schools.

June is National Safety month - and the Oakland County Sheriff's Office is taking the opportunity to distribute free gun locks.

The initiative to ensure gun owners properly and responsibly keep their guns stored and out of the wrong hands.

It has links to virtual tool kits on violence and suicide prevention as well as active shooter preparedness.
