Person of interest comes forward after mom, 13-month-old found dead in Eastpointe

A mother and her young child were found dead, according to Eastpointe police.

Police say the bodies of the 29-year-old woman and her 13-month-old daughter were found Thursday night in their home on 23,000 block of Normandy Avenue, which is near Nine Mile and Kelly roads. 

Family has identified the victim to FOX 2 as Monique Rakowski. 

Police had identified a person of interest earlier this morning, and now say that person has turned himself in to Dearborn police.

Police were also looking for the victim's car, which is said to be a dark blue 2007 Chevy Impala. The license plate number is 1HXJ18. It is unclear at this time if the vehicle has been recovered.
