Police chase ends with rollover crash on I-275 in Farmington Hills

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) - A police chase of a felony hit and run driver ended with a rollover crash on I-275 in Farmington Hills.

At 3 p.m. Wednesday the suspect was spotted in the Brighton Mall parking lot by a police officer. The man was wanted for the hit and run which occurred a few minutes earlier near EB I-96 and Pinckney Road.

The officer tried to stop the suspect who was driving a Chevy Tahoe and the suspect drove off, eventually flipping off the officer before heading east on I-96, sparking the chase.

Michigan State Police joined in the pursuit which ended with a rollover crash near EB I-96 and Haggerty Road. The suspect was transported to Botsford Hospital. 

Investigators say that heroin and other drugs are suspected in the incidents. 

No officers or bystanders were injured in the crash.
