DETROIT (WJBK) - Detroit police are investigating the shooting of an infant and a man on Detroit's west side around 1 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, the infant was inside of a home when a shooter fired multiple shots into the house on Clarita Avenue and Winthrop Street, hitting the infant and a 24-year-old man. They are suspected have driven away in an older model silver Saturn.
Two other children, one 4 months old and another 11 months old, were unharmed. Police said the infant, named Miracle Murray, died from the injuries, but the man is expected to survive.
Police were for three suspects in the case, and two have been identified as Christopher Long Jr. and Jose Jackson. Both men were arrested in Lincoln Park a few hours after the shooting.
The third suspect, believed to be the gunman, has not yet been identified.
Jackson may have been involved in the shooting on Easter Sunday that left a 3-year-old girl dead. Police had arrested him, but he was later released.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig said they believe the individuals are connected to a local street gang, but don't know what the dispute causing the violence concerns.
