Police investigate hidden camera found in CrossFit changing room

CLINTON TWP, Mich. (WJBK) - Authorities are investigating after a hidden camera was found in a changing room at a gym in Clinton Township. 

Police say a woman, who is a law enforcement officer in another city, was in the changing area at Switch CrossFit - Fitness Gym when she thought she saw the ceiling tiles move, and a camera being retracted. She reported it to authorities.

The suspect, who is facing a 5 year felony, plans to turn himself in, according to authorities.

Police then confiscated the phone and other electronics of an employee at the gym, who also might be a partial owner. Police say the employee is cooperating with the investigation.

Right now it is unclear how many images of people changing clothes were recorded.

Authorities are waiting for a warrant to be approved. 

The gym is located on Groesbeck Highway just south of Hall Road.
