Police say 76-year-old's death in Ann Arbor is suspicious

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WJBK) - Ann Arbor Police are investigating the death of a 76-year-old man, who was found in the basement of a home Monday night. 

Police were called to the home on Alpine Drive for a welfare check when they made the discovery. An acquaintance was worried.

Police say the circumstances of the man's death are suspicious. 

"All of a sudden a fire truck came by and then two more, and then I think it was five altogether. And then a couple cop cars came and we came down here, and one of the neighbors said it smelled like an electrical fire," Robert Koeff told us. He lives nearby. He watched as firefighters and police combed the property.

"I heard that they found a dead body in there," he added. 

Police haven't released any other details at this time, so it's not known how the man died.
