Port Huron dog mauling death ruled a suicide
Police confirm that the cause of death of a 22-year-old woman who died after being mauled by dogs has been ruled suicide.
According to an investigator with the medical examiner's office, Rebecca Hardy's death was caused by multiple injuries and was ruled a suicide on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old woman died last week after being found in a backyard in Port Huron. Police say she did not live at the home near 10th and Oak in Port Huron. They say she wandered in and was attacked by a pit bull and a pit bull husky mix.
A witness alerted the homeowner who came out to help. They were unable to stop the attack and Hardy later died.
Both dogs were removed from the home and were euthanized.
The incident is still under investigation.
