A Delta flight was delayed Tuesday morning after it was hit and damaged by a pushback vehicle on a runway, according to Delta officials.

A Delta official says during the pushback of Delta flight 2421 from Detroit to Raleigh-Durham, the pushback vehicle lost traction and made contact with the aircraft. Conditions were snowy and slippery early that morning in Michigan.

The flight returned to the gate and customers are being reaccommodated on an alternate aircraft. That flight is expected to depart at 9:35 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Delta didn't say how badly the plane was damaged.
