Quick Lane Bowl to feature CMU at Ford Field
ALLEN PARK--
Central Michigan University will not have to go far to get to its Bowl game.
The Chippewas will take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Ford Field December 28th in the Quick Lane Bowl.
The Chippewas (7-5, 6-2 MAC) managed to win 7 games this year while Minnesota (5-7, 2-6 Big Ten) are one of the few teams to make it to a bowl that finished below .500. Central Michigan University Head Coach John Bonamego was the Detroit Lions Special Teams Coordinator before leaving to coach the Chippewas.
University of Minnesota Head Coach Tracy Claeys also has ties to Michigan. Claeys started his collegiate coaching career at Saginaw Valley State University.
This is the second straight bowl game for Minnesota and the ninth bowl game for Central Michigan who will be playing its fifth bowl game at Ford Field.
Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. on December 28th.
