Redford man charged for allegedly planning to meet 13-year-old for sex
WARREN, Mich. (FOX 2) - A man from Redford was charged for allegedly planning to meet a young teen for sex in Warren.

Ernest Howell, 33, of Redford was arraigned on charges in connection with his alleged plan to meet with a 13-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.
Officials say on Wednesday, Warren Police arrested Howell at the Warren Public Library after they received a tip that he was heading to the library to meet a 13-year-old, with the planned encounter being arranged through texts.
The next day, on April 2, Howell appeared in court where he was charged with:
- Child Sexually Abusive Activity, a 20-year felony
- Computers – Using to Commit a Crime – Maximum Imprisonment of 4 Years but Less Than 10 Years, a 7-year felony
- Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes, a 4-year felony
What's next:
Howell’s bond at $150,000 cash/surety, no 10%.
He must wear a GPS tether if he is released and is not permitted to use the internet.
He also can't have contact with anyone 17 years of age or younger.
"Crimes against minors represent some of the most serious abuses of power and trust, and they will be met with decisive action. I am resolute in pursuing justice, ensuring that those responsible face consequences, and making it known that our community will not stand by in the face of exploitation," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
Howell is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference on Thursday, April 16.
