ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) - A Roseville man took justice into his own hands when he caught some kids breaking into cars. He chased them away but they all left their wheels behind - so he did he decided was best: strapped them to a tree and invited them to come and get them.
Ricky Hill posted a photo on Facebook of the three bikes that were tied to a tree in the front yard of a home. Along with the bikes was a sign that read "To the punks we chased away breaking into cars last night, we have your bikes U forgot cause U ran!"
Hill posted the photo Monday afternoon, meaning the crimes are believed to have happened late Sunday night.
According to Facebook comments on the photo, a neighbor noticed the three in the neighborhood and said they were wearing gloves. Considering that it's August, the neighbor thought that might have been unusual so he followed them. As soon as he touched Hill's truck, he yelled at the kids and then alerted Hill.
Hill chased all three away - who weren't smart enough to take their bikes with them. So he sent the message to them and told them to 'come and claim' their bikes:
Hill's wife, Jennifer Richey, told FOX 2 they like their neighborhood and they're 'sick of the bull'.
"I have awesome neighbor's and we look out for each other," Richey said.
