Sea of green: Detroit St. Patrick's Day Parade is Sunday

Founded in 1834, Corktown is Detroit's oldest neighborhood and on Sunday it's going to be its busiest.

In some cultures, the queen and her court would never get caught on their knees doing manual labor - but we Irish have never been above putting in a hard day’s work.

We've been known to leave folks scratching their heads like having a St. Patrick's Day parade the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day - so there were two days of revenue for the Irish bar owners.

The 61st Detroit St. Patrick's Day parade will have grand marshals when it makes its way down Michigan Avenue at 1:00 p.m. That honor was bestowed this year to Paul and Agnes Goody who moved from Belfast to Warren 40 years ago it.

"It brings a good feeling to the people in the community to see us celebrating St. Patrick's day in such a joyful way," Paul said.
