Search for missing baby in Detroit

DETROIT (WJBK) - Detroit Police are searching for a 6-month-old girl, who's been missing since Monday night.

Investigators say the girl's father, John Ellerbe Jones, walked away from a home in the15 thousand block of Linwood Street, near the John C. Lodge Freeway, pushing the baby in the stroller without the mother's permission.

The baby's name is Melondy Laira Jones.

The father is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing 220 pounds. Jones is also wanted on a parole absconder warrant.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and blue Nike shoes.

If you have seen them, or know anything about the baby's whereabouts, you're asked to call Detroit police.
