Serious accident closes I-94 EB at 12 Mile Road Sunday morning

I-94 eastbound is closed Sunday morning at 12 Mile Road, due to a serious accident involving an SUV and a motorcycle.

Roseville Police say at about 5 a.m. Sunday a green Harley Davidson and a Black Chevy Equinox were traveling eastbound on I-94.

Witnesses say the Chevy was traveling at a high speed when it hit the motorcycle in the far left lane of I-94.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old man from Clinton Twp, suffered non-life threatening injuries after an accident on I-94 EB at the northbound Gratiot Avenue exit.

The driver of the SUV, a 26-year-old Clinton Township man, is suspected of driving under the influence and is being held at the Roseville Police Department. He had three passengers in his vehicle at the time of the crash.

Traffic was being diverted off the 12 Mile Road exit. The freeway reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
