Shootout leads to 1 dead on Detroit's west side

Right now Detroit police are working to track down the suspect involved in a shooting that left a man in his twenties dead on Detroit's west side.

People who live in the area of Rosemont and Warren say it is usually a quiet neighborhood.

According to police, that is where two people apparently got into a fight. The altercation then took a deadly turn.

Police tell Fox 2 that the victim in this case started firing at the other person first and then the suspect returned fire shooting the victim several times. The man eventually died from his injuries.

We are told his friend pulled him into a car and drove off but lost control and hit a building in the 16000 block of west Warren. Police also found two handguns at that location.

Police have not released the name of the victim and they are still looking for the suspect who shot him but do not have a good description of the suspect to release at this time.

If you have any information that could help police, please call them immediately.
