Shop offers free ice cream to victims of Michigan's rocky roads

They are just the pits, cracked rims 

Tattered tires are killing our spirits, so, who doesn't love a little ice cream.

It's our usual nightmare turned into a delicious dream. Michigan pothole flavored ice cream coming from Ashby Sterling Ice Cream in Shelby Township and given away at Franklin's Farmhouse Coffee and Ice Cream.

"If you come in and bring your receipt dated from February or you can show us you had to have your tire repaired because of the potholes, we are going to give you free pothole ice cream," said Deanne Yow, owner of Farmhouse Coffee and Ice Cream.

The offer is through March 25; the free pot hole scoop is worth about $4.

So maybe a little sugar high can distract you from your deflated tires.

"Potholes are a sad thing, we are trying to bring some happiness from potholes," Yow said.

"It's always good to have a good sense of humor about a harsh situation." said Elle Garfield, customer.
