State police investigates suspected road rage shooting on I-94

Michigan State Police combed I-94 westbound for evidence looking any sign of a shooting during what looks like a road rage incident.

A couple hours earlier at about  4:30 p.m., 911 dispatchers got a call from a female driver, who says she was shot at on the freeway by Merriman. Someone in another car allegedly fired one shot but missed.

A state police trooper happened to be in the median in his cruiser nearby where it happened.   The woman was able to give a plate number and make of the car - troopers followed the suspected shooter.

He was pulled over in Ypsilanti Township off 94 at Michigan Avenue.  That man is spending the night behind bars - with charges pending.

On Thursday evening troopers closed part of the highway, rerouting traffic off I-94 at Middle Belt causing a serious backup in the area near Metro Airport.
