Stolen car suspect escapes police pursuit after crash

A police pursuit with a few twists as officials try to track down a man still on the run after he led police on a chase. 

One witness said that when he saw the spike strips out, he knew it was a chase.

"As soon as he laid the spike strips out I knew it was a high speed chase," said Kyle Gregory. "I knew I better grab my camera."

Gregory pulled out his camera and starting recording - what he didn't know was that the man had stolen a car.

The police view from their dash cam was provided, showing the chase. The driver wouldn't stop when police tried to pull him over.
 
At one point he turns left between two trailers in Madison Heights and eventually crashes. Inside his car were narcotics and paraphernalia.

"I saw him come right around this corner."

After the crash the suspect had the nerve to get out run around find another vehicle and take off.
 
Police say the suspect is described as 5 feet, 9 inches 180 pounds. He has a medium build with a bald head and a couple days of stubble.
