Suspect arrested in Grand Circus Park shooting

Detroit police have announced an arrest in the shooting of an 18-year at Grand Circus Park downtown Wednesday.

A 50-year-old black male was arrested Thursday night in connection with the shooting which happened at Adams and Woodward, according to Detroit police. The suspect has not been named, pending his arraignment. 

An altercation led to the shooting of the 18-year-old victim in the face. That person was hospitalized and is expected to recover.

Two arrests were made shortly after the incident but after questioning both persons of interest were released.

Residents who live nearby told FOX 2 the area, despite being such a public space, has been a hotbed of illicit behavior.
