A scary case of stranger danger happened in Clinton Township where a teenager was grabbed while walking to school.

As the 13-year-old was walking to Clintondale Middle School, a stranger pulled up.

"An older model red car with four doors was seen following her," said Police Chief Fred Posavetz. "He turned around and asked her if she 'wanted a ride.'"

When she doesn't respond he actually got out of the car, grabs and tries to pull her in his car.

A white man, about 5 feet, 10 inches, he was wearing a dark blue dress shirt without a tie and black dress pants," Posavetz said. "

Police say the girl did everything right. She left her backpack on the ground and sprinted to school to call for help.

Immediately police were at the scene and parents of the district were notified.

Police say reports of crimes like this should reinforce the need of parents to talk to their kids about what to do if they are approached by a stranger.

"We would like to see them walk with a group of friends, especially in the dark hours of the morning," Posavetz said.
