Suspects caught on camera breaking into west Detroit home

After being laid off and having two young boys to take care of, being robbed was the last thing Phillip Martin needed.

Two men broke into the Detroit resident's home on Saturday evening, but were caught on camera thanks to a neighbor.

The men walked up the driveway of the home located three blocks from the Lodge and West McNichols, and broke into a window around the back of the home.

Martin arrived shortly after to discover the broken window, lights on that he had not left on, and thousands of dollars of personal property missing, including a TV, an XBOX and cash.

He said the two on video appeared to be teenagers or very young adults that he doesn't recognize.

"We have to start all over again. ...It's going to take a little time for me to replace all this stuff," Martin said.
