Suspects fleeing police cause fatal 4-car crash in Brownstown Twp

A car fleeing police Downriver caused a deadly four vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon Downriver.

A 27-year-old died in the crash which happened in the area of Dix Highway and Allen Road in Brownstown Township, according to Michigan State Police.

A male driver and female passenger were fleeing from Woodhaven police for retail fraud and parole violation at the time of the accident. MSP said that the patrol cars with lights and sirens on, had fallen back when the suspect struck three other vehicles while on northbound Allen Road at about 5:30 p.m.

The other injured people in the large crash scene suffered multiple injuries, but all were non-life threatening.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash, according to State police Lt. Michael Shaw.

UPDATE: In a statement Wednesday, police identified the driver who died was Nicole Ann Cutting of Trenton.
