Suspicious package scene cleared in Northville

NORTHVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) - A suspicious package investigated in Northville Monday afternoon was found to not be a threat.

Police officers first sent a remote device to investigate the box, before investigators approached and opened it, finding nothing inside but what looked like a plastic food container

The package had the word "bomb" written on it in a parking lot at Cedar Lake Road and Six Mile.

Police in the area are had residents shelter in place as a precaution. 

The scene was clear shortly before 5 p.m.
