Target rolling out new wine brand at just $5 a bottle

Target is giving shoppers another reason to celebrate this Labor Day weekend. Starting Sunday, September 3, the mega retailer will offer a new line of wines for only $5 a bottle.

The line is called California Roots, and Target says the wines are crafted with premium, California-grown grapes.

The line will include a Chardonnay, a Pinot Grigio, a Moscato, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Red Blend.

“We’re out to give our guests even more reasons to love Target-including exclusive products they can’t find anywhere else,” says Jeff Burt, senior vice president of food and beverage.

California Roots wines launch at over 1,100 Target stores nationwide on Sept. 3, 2017. You can read more about the profile of each wine here.

Target is in the process of rolling out a variety of other new brands, too, after the wild success of its Cat & Jack and Pillowfort brands in 2016. Cat & Jack is a kids' clothing line, and Pillowfort is a kids' home collection.

This past weekend, two new clothing lines hit Target stores: A New Day, a versatile mix-and-match women’s brand; and Goodfellow & Co, a modern-meets-classic men’s brand.

Later in September, Target's Project 62 brand will become available. It's a modern home décor line. And, in October, JoyLab will be available, a street-fashion-inspired activewear line.
