Teen stabbed, robbed while riding bike in Bloomfield Township

Police in Bloomfield Township are investigating after a teenager was stabbed and robbed while riding his bike this Memorial Day. 

Police say the 17-year-old was riding his bike northbound on Ward Road when he was stopped by a stranger. Police say the stranger was walking and stepped out in front of the teen's bike to stop him. 

Police say the man demanded the teen's wallet, backpack and bike. They got in a struggle and the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim twice. 

Police say the man also threatened to kill the teen several times during the attack, and also punched him in the face. The teen got away and made contact with someone who called 911. 

Police say the suspect is a black man in his mid 20s, about 6 feet 3 inches tall. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with black drawstrings, black Adidas athletic pants with a white strip down the sides, a purple bandana and black Nike shoes. He rode off on the victim's bike southbound on Ward Road, towards Telegraph Road.
