Cooler start to the day after temps dip

Metro Detroit is waking up to a big temperature shift Wednesday morning. Alan Longstreet has what to expect for the rest of the week.

Wednesday may be cooler, but the weather doesn't define the rest of the week, including Detroit Tigers Opening Day on Friday.

Warmth creeps back in on Thursday with highs in the low 60s.

A thunderstorm is possible Thursday night, with rain potentially lingering into Friday morning. Current models show that Detroit will likely see little, if any rain, on Opening Day. Any wet weather that will move through the area is expected to dissipate by the first pitch at 1 p.m.

In addition to a mostly dry Opening Day, it's shaping up to be a warm one, too, with highs in the mid-70s and the sun in the sky.
