Trump thanks Weiner during campaign rally in Warren
WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) - Donald Trump was back in metro Detroit Monday at a big rally at Macomb Community College in Warren.
The Republican presidential candidate spoke for about an hour hitting all the major talking points: eliminating Obamacare and job losses to Mexico.
Trump said the reason he was back so soon in Michigan is because he feels that the polls here are even and that he may have even gotten a boost from former New York congressman Anthony Weiner.
"I never thought we'd be saying thank you -- to Anthony Weiner," Trump said. "Never. Thank you Anthony, I never liked you Anthony. Thank you very much.
"I get this poll and it says we're doing well in Michigan - not for me well, but for all the geniuses that work for me say, 'You're even in Michigan.' So I said let's go to Michigan, we just left, and we just left another place. I said, 'Let's go win it.'"
