Vehicle sandwiched between semi-trucks in Macomb County

Two people escaped a scary crash in northern Macomb County with non-life-threatening injuries after a semi-truck rear-ended a vehicle, pushing it into another semi-truck Thursday morning.

Two people were taken to a hospital after a violent crash in northern Macomb County late Thursday morning.

The crash involved three vehicles, including two semi-trucks that struck a passenger vehicle.

What we know:

A three-vehicle crash took place at 34 Mile and Van Dyke in Bruce Township, north of Romeo around 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.

The Macomb County Sheriff confirmed two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle they were in was crushed between two semi-trucks.

Both were taken to a local hospital, law enforcement said Thursday afternoon.

The intersection was closed to traffic as police cleaned up the scene. 

What we don't know:

The details around what caused the crash are still under review and have not been reported by police.

The victim was sandwiched between two semi-trucks, being struck from behind by a food distrubution truck. The victim's vehicle suffered extensive damage and appeared to be totaled.

Slick roads were reported this morning due to winter weather.
