Two in custody after bank robbery in Harrison Twp., chase on I-94

Two people have been arrested after a bank robbery in Harrison Township.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says the two suspects entered the Comerica Bank at Shook Road and Jefferson Avenue late Monday morning and told employees to get on the ground. They made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects drove away in a brown van, and were pursued by police. When more police cruisers joined the pursuit, the suspects sped up and a chase ensued on Interstate-94.

The chase ended near Little Mack when the suspects rammed a patrol car, according to the sheriff's office. Just as they stopped, police say one of the men hopped the median and into the eastbound lanes of I-94. He was tased on the interstate and led away in cuffs.

No employees were injured at the bank.

The two men are expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon and face life in prison for the charges.
