Vault of Midnight celebrates free comic book day in Detroit

Comic book lovers came to Detroit Saturday looking to pick up a freebie.

Saturday marked international Free Comic Book Day, celebrated at the brand new Vault of Midnight store.

It's located on Library Street -- between Gratiot and Grand River in downtown Detroit. Today was the 15th year of Free Comic Book Day.

Vault of Midnight store owner Curtis Sullivan said business Saturday was steady through the day.

"This is our first year. We've only been open a couple of days so it's a little more subdued," he said. "But our other two locations have lines down the block ... For an established comic shop, you're going have a thousand people show up at your store."

Next week, many comic book fans will head to Novi for the 2016 Motor City Comic Con.
