Vigil, fundraiser set for family of girl killed in Sportsplex shooting
TAYLOR, Mich. - A prayer vigil will be held Thursday for the girl fatally shot outside the Taylor Sportsplex Dec. 3.
Emma Watson Nowling was fatally shot and her mother, Sharon Watson, was hospitalized in critical condition.
A vigil will be held in the parking lot of the Sportsplex at 7 p.m. Dec. 10. Singing and a prayer service will be conducted by Shawn Lewis and Craig Brown of Gilead Baptist Church of Taylor.
The Sportsplex is at 13333 Telegraph Road near North Line.
Emma and her mother were shot by family friend Timothy Obeshaw who then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide.
A fundraiser is being held Dec. 16 at J.P. McGuire's 21138 Goddard Road in Taylor.
Proceeds will go to Sharon Watson.
