Family to hold vigil for murdered Sterling Heights nurse on her Birthday

The family of Kiah Hopson, found dead Saturday morning outside of her Sterling Heights apartment will hold a candle light vigil for the murdered nurse December 15.

Hopson would have turned 25 years old Friday, but would never get to celebrate with her family.

The 24-year-old was discovered with  multiple gunshot wounds after neighbors called 911 to say they had heard gunshots.

Her family spoke with Fox 2 Sunday about the devastating situation.

“I loved my daughter deeply... that’s my world,” Bridget, Hopson’s mom said.

“I don’t know why anybody would have the nerve to take my daughter out. She never bothered a soul.”

Kiah’s family says she had just left her job as an LPN at a nursing home, when she was found.

“She was a loving, caring, beautiful person who always did for others. She loved all of her friends & family dearly,” Deasha, Hopson’s cousin wrote on a GoFundMe page.
