A man allegedly hires a transgender prostitute for a rendezvous at a Warren hotel.

Once there, he says that prostitute and her suspected pimp shot him during an argument.

"It's kind of a convoluted, contradictory issue," said Warren Mayor Jim Fouts.

According to Fouts a transgendered prostitute, her friend and her supposed client, got into an altercation at the Red Roof Inn Tuesday night on Dequindre Road.

"The transgender prostitute's friend or whatever you want to call that person apparently assaulted the client, a 45-year-old Warren resident," Fouts said. "There was an altercation and in the struggle, there was a gun that was fired."

FOX 2 is told that the client suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

"The friend was trying to extract wealth from the client - who may not have been a client," Fouts said.

Then the alleged transgendered prostitute and friend ran across Dequindre to Madison Heights to avoid the cops.

One person is in police custody but what involvement that suspect had, is unknown. If you have any information, contact Warren police at (586) 574-4700.
