Wayne police release sketch of suspect wanted for rape

The Wayne Police Department released a sketch of a suspect wanted for rape.

At 7 p.m. on Jan. 25, police say the man broke into a house and sexually assaulted the homeowner after she had walked home.

The police say the victim, who is in her 40s, was walking in the area of Merriman and Michigan Avenue. After arriving home, the man entered the residence without her permission.

After the physical assault, the suspect fled on foot. He is described as a black male, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He wears shorter curly/twisted hair. 

On Monday police released the sketch of the suspect.
