WB I-696 closed from Telegraph to I-275 in Oakland County this weekend
(WJBK) - The first weekend closure of this section of I-696 in Oakland County begins this Friday.
According to MDOT, the closures start at 8 p.m. Friday with lane and ramp closures at Coolidge Road. This will reduce traffic heading toward Telegraph. Westbound I-696 will be closed from Telegraph to I-275 through 5 a.m. Monday.
A detour will be available southbound Telegraph to westbound 8 Mile Road to Grand River Avenue.
The project is expected to end this November.
MDOT also reminds that westbound I-696 will remain closed from I-94 to Dequindre Road in Macomb County through the fall. Eastbound I-696 will remain open in Oakland and Macomb counties.
