Bertha Stearn is celebrating big a milestone with not just one, but two cakes.

"Today's my birthday, I'm 100 years old," she said.

She was born and raised in the Motor City before it was even called that.

"There's so many things, so many changes that have occurred in my lifetime," Stearn said. "From horse and wagon to cars."

Family and friends gathered Monday at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills to celebrate Bertha's big day.

"I've been looking forward to it but I was also very apprehensive," she said. "I wasn't sure I was going to make it."

But she did make it.

"I guess it’s the genes and also I used to do a lot of exercise," Bertha said.

And she shared one of her secrets.

"I'll tell you the truth, for the last 40 or 50 years I've used Oil of Olay," she said. "Whether that helps or not, I can't tell you."

And now that she's made it to the big 100?

"I don't feel like doing too much," she said. "I just feel like resting and lying around and taking it easy. I guess I'm entitled."
