Woodhaven Police situation ends, armed person took own life

Police in the Downriver city of Woodhaven say the situation around an apartment complex ended with the armed person inside taking their own life.

FOX 2 learned of the police situation at the Southpointe Square Apartments in the 22500 block of West Road in Woodhaven. According to the witness, police surrounded the complex with the guns drawn and the building was evacuated. 

Woodhaven police are calling it a "police situation" and say that officers are "handling it".

Just before 10 a.m., Woodhaven Police told FOX 2 that the situation was resolved and the armed person inside had taken their own life.
