Ypsilanti man shot in head, killed during attempted marijuana deal

An Ypsilanti man was killed Thursday evening when police said a drug deal appears to have gone south.

Ypsilantia police said they were called to the 800 block of Madison for a shooting. When they arrived, they found a woman on the scene covered in blood and 'hysterical'.

She told police that she and her boyfriend were trying to sell marijuana to a man in the back seat while driving on Monroe. She said the man in the back seat pulled out a gun and started shooting, hitting her boyfriend in the head.

The man and another person in the car ran from the scene before police arrived.

The 25-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.

The other person who ran from the car was picked up and is being questioned by police. The shooter is not in custody. He's described as a black man, 18-22 years old, 5'10-6'0", and was wearing a gray hoodie.
