Ypsilanti Twp. shooting leaves woman hospitalized, suspect in custody

YPSILANTI, Mich. (FOX 2) - A woman is in the hospital after a shooting which police say stemmed from a couple in Ypsilanti Township.

On Tuesday, Washtenaw County Deputies say they were called to a shooting on the 7800 Block of Hampton Court just before 6:45 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered a 30-year-old woman who had been shot multiple times. She was taken to a hospital where police say she is expected to be okay.

Officials later learned the shooting stemmed from a domestic relationship between those involved.

While investigating, police were able to arrest a 44-year-old man during a traffic stop in Ypsilanti just after the shooting occurred.
