Tavon Wilson to Lions

Defensive back Tavon Wilson announced on Twitter Wednesday that he is headed to the Lions.  

Wilson -- who was picked by the Patriots in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft -- heads to Detroit after four seasons with New England in which he played in 54 games, starting four of them, and had five interceptions, 11 pass deflections and 60 tackles.  Last season he played in nine games, didn't start in any of them, and had 10 tackles, 2 pass deflections and zero interceptions.  

The Illinois product is 25 years old and also played special teams for the Patriots.
