Tigers Opening Day guide: Everything to know before heading to Detroit

DETROIT (FOX 2) - The Tigers head to Comerica Park on Friday for their home opener — basically a holiday in Detroit.

Here's everything you need to know before attending the game against the Cardinals:

When is the Tigers game?

 The opening pitch will be thrown out at 1:10 p.m. April 3.

Opening Day weather

As of Thursday morning, the weather for Opening Day looks great.

Thunderstorms are in the forecast for Thursday evening and night, but those will fade by Friday morning, setting the stage for a perfect day for baseball in Detroit.

It'll be a breezy but mild day in the city, with temperatures forecasted to be nearly 70 by first pitch at 1:10 p.m. Those temps are expected to tick up a few more degrees as the day progresses.

Parking for Opening Day

Spot Hero allows you to see nearby parking options and prices. Plus, you can use the website to book a spot now, so it is reserved and paid for when you get there.

Spaces are currently available at lots a couple blocks from Comerica Park, but you'll have to pay $100+ to park there.

If you would rather not shell out that much cash for a parking spot, walking will be your best bet. The farther you get from the ballpark, the less you'll be paying, with prices as low as $10 if you choose to add some extra steps to your day.

Comerica Park bag policy

Single-compartment bags, wallets, and clutches that are smaller than 4 inches by 6 inches by 1 ½ inches, with or without a handle or strap, are permitted. Bags, purses, and clutches larger than this are not allowed.

This policy does not include diaper bags or medical bags such as ones used to carry breast pumps, oxygen, insulin, and epi-pens. These bags can be up to 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches.

Getting around Detroit

Beyond driving and walking, there are several other options for getting around downtown.

MoGo 

MoGo bike stations are around Detroit, making it easy to get around on two wheels.

There are several options for using the bikes:

- Pay As You Go Pass: $1 to unlock, 25 cents a minute

- 1 Hour Pass: $10

- Explore the City (unlimited number of trips up to 60 minutes in duration and is available for three days): $15

- Prepaid Pass (Two hours of ride time that can be broken up into several trips or used all at once): $18

- Monthly Pass (Unlimited number of 60-minute trips for 30 days): $20

- Annual Pass (Unlimited number of 60-minute trips for one year): $90

- Access pass (Unlimited number of 60-minute trips for one year for people on Food Assistance, Cash Assistance/Family Independence, Medicaid, Health Michigan Plan, Children's Special Health Care Services, and Child Care Assistance): $5

The QLINE

QLINE rides are free. The streetcar has 12 stops along Woodward. It runs from 8 a.m. to midnight on Mondays through Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.

The commuter lot near the Detroit Amtrak station is an option for hassle-free parking near the QLINE. There Wayne State University park and ride lot available for $5 on Fridays. Lot 12 at 6050 Woodward is a quick walk to the QLINE Amsterdam station. 

Buses

Both DDOT and SMART buses will be running Friday to help fans get around.

All SMART fixed routes in Metro Detroit will be free on Friday.

Rideshare

For those not walking to drive, walk, or take public transit. Lyft and Uber are both options for getting to and from the game.
