Father jailed after allegedly beating 9-year-old, burning 1-year-old sons
Cedric Diequell-Stevens Moore, 38, of Pontiac was charged with multiple counts of child abuse June 29, after he allegedly beat his 9-year-old son for falling asleep on the couch. During an investigation, police also found cigarette burn marks on Moore's 1-year-old son, that had healed over.
Detroit Police give update on fatally shot 15-year-old, non-fatally shot 13-year-old
The shooting happened Sunday afternoon on Mark Twain in the city.

Families speak after drive by shooting leaves two dead at Detroit park
Samir Grubbs, 4, and?Daviyon Shelmonson-Bey, 18 were both shot and killed, and a third 17-year-old victim was shot in a drive-by shooting near Denby High School Friday night. Detroit Police had no one in custody by Saturday afternoon, having released two people who were initially picked up as persons of interest Friday night. Family members of both deceased victims spoke out Saturday about the shooting. None of the victims knew each other.
