Dunkin' worker who fatally punched 77-year-old customer sentenced to 2 years of house arrest

A Tampa Dunkin' worker accused of punching and killing a 77-year-old customer for calling him the "N" word will spend 2 years on house arrest after pleading guilty to felony battery. Prosecutors said the sentence took into account the "despicable racial slur" and verbal abuse the victim used, along with the worker's "lack of intent to cause the victim's death."

"The woman tried to hang on. There was a bystander nearby who tried to help her, but tragically she fell five or six stories below where she died landing on concrete," West Palm Beach police spokesman Mike Jachles said.
