Breezy Tuesday gives way to more winter weather later this week

(FOX 2) - Tuesday kicks off with cool and breezy conditions, setting the tone for what will be a chilly rest of the week. 

High temperatures will reach around 41 degrees, but don’t let that fool you—it will feel cooler thanks to steady west winds blowing at 10-20 mph. 

Skies will be mostly cloudy, adding to the brisk vibe, so make sure to dress warmly before heading out.

As we move into Wednesday, expect a frosty start with morning temperatures just below freezing. The day will only warm up slightly, with highs climbing to 38 degrees. A wintry mix is possible during the day, bringing a combination of light rain and snow. 

While this won’t be a major system, it’s worth keeping an eye on untreated roads and sidewalks, as slick spots could develop in some areas. For the most part, though, the mix will be more of a nuisance than a disruption.

The real action arrives late Thursday into early Friday morning. Thursday will stay cold, with highs around 34 degrees. By Thursday night, a system will move in, bringing light to moderate snow. 

By the time we wake up on Friday morning, snow totals of 1–3 inches are likely across the region. This could make for a tricky morning commute, especially on secondary roads and less-traveled areas. Drivers should be prepared for slower travel times and slippery conditions.

Looking ahead to Friday, the snow will taper off during the day, but temperatures will remain chilly, with highs struggling to get out of the low 30s. 

As we close out the week, the colder pattern will hold steady, and it’s clear that winter is starting to make its presence felt.
