Heavy rains expected later on Tuesday

Another chilly, wet day is ahead in metro Detroit.

Rainstorms are developing to the southwest of us right now and will roll into southeast Michigan later today. We could see some light rain and showers at any point early in the afternoon -- but the second half of the day will be much more active.

Expect rain during your evening commute, and it will likely be a heavy rain, too. Some storms are possible.

You can download the FOX 2 weather app here to keep an eye on the radar as the system moves in throughout the day.

Temps will hover around 40 degrees Tuesday and won't warm up for the next 7 days either. Light snow showers are a possibility Wednesday morning, but nothing significant is expected in accumulation in the metro area.
