Metro Detroit weather: Wind Advisory with gusts as high as 45 mph possible Monday

Get ready for a windy day! Winds could gust as high as 45 mph this afternoon.

A Wind Advisory goes into effect at 10 a.m. for Southeast Michigan, extending through 8 p.m.

Of course, the wind has an effect on how it will feel today. Temperatures are starting out as much as 10 degrees colder than 24 hours ago, putting Southeast Michigan in the near 20 degree range this morning. Wind chills, because of the wind ramping up, are in the single digit range this morning, so it's a cold start.

Those gusty winds will produce wind chill values in the 20s throughout the day, despite seasonal afternoon highs in the mid 30s. Expect gusty winds to be a factor throughout the work week.

We'll start off with sunshine today, increasing clouds as we move through the afternoon, leading to light snow late.

Temperatures remain close to seasonal values this week, no big fluctuations, at or above freezing this week. There's a chance for more snow Tuesday night as a clipper system (fast moving area of low pressure originating from Canada) moves through the state.

Possibly a wintry mix as we head toward the weekend.
