Feel the 'Five Heartbeats' at the Detroit Free Press Film Festival
The Detroit Freep Film Festival is underway and offers more than 80 films across several genres. Among them are "The Five Heartbeats," and the new companion documentary "Making the Five Heartbeats," which chronicles the making of the 1991 cult-classic that shows the rise and fall of a ficticious vocal group from the Motown era.
Filmmaker Robert Townsend, who co-wrote, directed, produced and starred in the original film, and then created the documentary, dropped by the Fox2 News studios Saturday morning to discuss them and being part of the film festival.
Both will be shown today at 1 p.m. at the Redford Theatre. Watch the video above and click here for more information.
