Forest in Birmingham rolls out brunch menu

Forest has already made a name for itself among Birmingham's upscale eateries, and now it's time for something new - brunch! They opened up for brunch a few weeks ago, every Saturday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Executive chef Nick Janutol joins us in the FOX 2 Cooking School to tell us more about their brunch menu, and to show us how they make their french toast. You can get their recipe below.

Creme Anglais, Cinnamon, Powdered Sugar

Creme Anglaise:
1c heavy cream
1ea vanilla
1/2c sugar
4ea egg yolks

Combine sugar, vanilla and heavy cream in a sauce pot, and bring to a simmer. When simmering, temper the yolks and bring back to a boil. Cool the liquid while whisking over and ice bath. Once cooled, add the slices of pain de meil and let stand for 20 minutes. Dredge the soaked bread in rice flour, and pan sear until crispy.

Serve with fresh berries and whipped cream.
